Based in Stanton St John in Oxfordshire, B-Line was established in 1986 and now has a £50million stock holding for nationwide next day delivery from an online catalogue that contains more than 20,000 products. STL has provided communications to B-Line for 16 years, providing a bespoke approach by working with them as they have grown and expanded to make sure that their communications support the high levels of customer service that B-orldwide.

One stop shop

B-Line has a Samsung telephone system that STL installed and maintain. They also use STL for their telephone and data lines and connections, as well as for all their telephone calls. Phil Beesley, Managing Director of B-Line, says that this makes life simpler, “If we have any issues we just have to call STL, who are local and provide us with good customer support which is a refreshing change to dealing with an impersonal call centre.”

Lean and green

B-Line likes to minimise their impact on the environment whenever possible, so the fact that all their telephone calls are with STLʼs GreenMinutes and are carbon neutral is just another way in which B-Line can be greener at no additional cost. In addition, they have also just installed SIP trunks so that all their telephone calls are routed over an STL provided broadband connection. By using Voice over IP (VoIP), B-Line saves considerable line costs.

Disaster recovery

The business continuity capabilities of the telephone system saved the day for B-Line in the snow of January 2011, when no-one could get to the office. B-Line was able to carry on business as usual during the disruption by remotely diverting incoming calls so that customers had no idea that their calls were being taken by staff at home.

ISO accredited

Both B-Line and STL have ISO9001 and ISO14001 accreditation. From B-Lineʼs point of view ISO9001:2000 accreditation ensures that their customers receive the highest standards of administration which requires the very latest in telephony technology to enable the orders to be dealt with efficiently.
